A message from Mrs Allen 
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school, especially those families who are new to our community. As we settle into the new academic year, it has been a joy to see children embracing new routines, engaging enthusiastically in their learning, and living out our vision of "Preparing the Way...". Inspired by our links with St John the Baptist Church, we continue to support one another so that everyone can be their very best.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our Meet the Teacher sessions this week. It was lovely to see so many of you in school and to strengthen the important partnership between home and school. Homework has now begun and, as with any new routine, there may be a few teething problems. If you have any questions, please speak to your child's class teacher.
As part of our partnership between home and school, and our commitment to continually improving what we do, we are always keen to hear your thoughts about your child's experience at school. Our Parent Voice survey is an important way for us to gather your views and understand what we are doing well, as well as where there may be opportunities to improve. We would really encourage all parents and carers to take a few moments to complete it. We often hear most readily from families who have a particular concern, but it is equally valuable for us to hear about the things that are working well. Your feedback helps us to build a full and balanced picture of our parents' and carers' experiences and ensures that we can celebrate our successes while continuing to improve.
We have also begun appointing our pupil leadership roles for the year ahead. Every child has the opportunity to contribute to school life, and we are excited to see our Year 6 pupils’ campaign for the Head Boy and Head Girl positions within our House System: Emmeline Pankhurst (Red), Alan Turing (Yellow), and Mary Seacole (Blue). While not every child will receive their preferred role, every contribution is valued and plays an important part in our school community.
On Wednesday 16th September, we celebrated National Fitness Day with lots of fun activities throughout the school. The Year 6 children successfully persuaded Mr Bannister and Mrs Dix to join a game of football, while the Year 2 children convinced me to take part in a lively round of 'Banana, Banana, Meatballs'! Thank you to Mrs Poncia for organising such an enjoyable day.
Finally, on behalf of our Year 6 children, I would like to invite you, your families and friends to our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September from 9 am to 10 am. We would be grateful for any cake donations, homemade or shop-bought, and hope you can join us for a coffee and a slice of cake as we come together to support a very worthwhile cause.
