A message from Mrs Allen
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the halfway point of the term, it has been wonderful to see our children settling into school life and embracing the many opportunities available to them. Walking around school, I continue to be struck by the calm, purposeful atmosphere and by the way our children demonstrate our school values through their actions and attitudes every day.
The past fortnight has been particularly busy. We were incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils, who hosted a hugely successful Macmillan Coffee Morning. The event not only raised valuable funds for an important cause but also showcased the confidence, organisation and compassion of our children. A huge thank you must go to Mrs Parkin, Mr Hardstaff, Miss Billson, Miss Taylor and, of course, all of our Year 6 children for making the event such a success.
It has also been wonderful to see pupil leadership beginning to flourish across the school. Following our Heads of House elections and the appointment of our Young Bronze Ambassadors, all Year 6 pupils took part in leadership training to prepare them for a variety of roles throughout the year. We are now beginning the search for School Council members and look forward to seeing even more children stepping forward to make a positive contribution to our school community.
Our strong links with the local community have also been evident in recent weeks. Year 5 pupils have worked alongside local artists to create a banner celebrating Lincolnshire Day, which will be displayed at Priory Church in Deeping St James until Friday 9th October. The project has provided a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate their local heritage and sense of belonging.
Harvest has been another highlight. It was a joy to welcome so many families to our EYFS and KS1 Harvest Service, while our KS2 pupils represented the school brilliantly at St John the Baptist Church through their prayers, readings, poems, songs and even a rap! These occasions remind us of the strength of our school community and the importance of taking time to reflect and give thanks.
Thank you to those families who have already completed our Parent Voice Survey. To encourage as many responses as possible and help us gain a balanced and representative view of our school community, we have launched a competition! The class with the highest percentage of completed surveys will win a special treat. The winning class will be announced next Friday, so if you have not yet completed the survey, please do take a few minutes to share your views here.
Finally, to help keep all our children safe on their journeys to and from school, please remember that no vehicles should drive down the school driveway unless displaying a valid Blue Disability Badge. We also ask that anyone travelling by bike or scooter dismount at the school entrance and walk to the bike shed and scooter park.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Mrs Allen
