A message from Mrs Allen
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we move further into the autumn term, it continues to be a pleasure to see our children embracing new opportunities and representing our school so positively. Whether taking part in special events, welcoming visitors or supporting one another in their day-to-day learning, they continue to demonstrate the values that make our school such a special place.
This week, we were delighted to welcome prospective families to our Open Day events. Our newly elected Heads of House led tours around the school with confidence and maturity, acting as excellent ambassadors for our school community. Visitors commented positively on the warmth, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour of our children, and I would like to thank our PTA for providing refreshments and helping us create such a welcoming atmosphere.
We have also enjoyed celebrating several enriching opportunities beyond the classroom. Our Year 5 pupils took part in an exciting banner-making project to mark Lincolnshire Day, developing new skills while exploring an important aspect of local history. Four of our Year 6 pupils also had the opportunity to attend a Code Breaking Day at The Peterborough School. They demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and problem-solving skills throughout the day and were wonderful ambassadors for our school. We also joined schools across the country in supporting Hello Yellow, providing an important reminder of the value of looking after our mental health and wellbeing.
Thank you to everyone who completed our recent Parent Voice Survey. We were pleased that the feedback reflected many of our school's strengths, including our caring ethos, strong relationships, high-quality teaching and the wide range of opportunities available to children. As always, your feedback is invaluable and will help shape our continuing improvement, particularly in relation to communication and behaviour.
For parents of children in Year 6, a reminder that the deadline for secondary school applications is 31 October 2026. Please ensure that applications are submitted before this date if you have not already done so. You can apply online at https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/school-admissions/apply-school/3 or phone 01522 782030 and make an application over the phone.
I would also encourage parents to visit our website to view several important policies recently approved by the Governing Board, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, Behaviour Policy, Relationships, Sex and Health Education Policy, and School Uniform Policy.
Finally, I would like to remind families that sweets and treats should not be brought into school to celebrate birthdays. This helps us ensure that all children are included and safe, particularly those with allergies or dietary requirements. In addition, staff are unable to distribute party invitations on behalf of families, so these should be shared outside of school.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can continue to ensure that our school remains a place where every child is inspired, challenged and included.
Kind regards,
Mrs Georgina Allen
