EYFS

Welcome to EYFS

Inspiring curious minds and open hearts through play-based learning, we create an environment where every child can flourish. Our Early Years Foundation Stage aims to provide the perfect beginning to your child's educational journey.

Our Ambition

In EYFS at Baston CE Primary School, we aim for all of our children to come into school ready to take on the day with happiness, respect and an eagerness to challenge themselves. Through our broad curriculum, themed weeks and visits, we prepare the way so that our children will leave EYFS as well-rounded individuals who are ready to continue on their educational journeys and beyond.

EYFS Learning

In EYFS, we provide a careful mix of child-initiated and adult-led activities, focusing on the seven key areas of learning. Our learning takes the form of enquiry-based learning; each week will depend on what the children would like to find out about our current theme. Our themes are based on the texts we have chosen.

Important Information

Homework

Day Things to Remember

Any day so please keep your book in your bag

Our reading homework aligns with the books we are reading in our RWI groups. This means that when the children change books in their RWI groups, their home reading book will also change. Reading records should be filled in as a record of the reading which the children are completing at home.
At Baston we value the weekend and see it as family time. Therefore the children will not be asked to complete homework over the weekend.
The children will also have a Numbots login. This programme is to help them learn their maths.
