We recently took six children from Year 6 to church to help with the church lunches. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to spend time with members of our local community and to put our school values into action.
The children helped to serve a hot lunch of soup and pudding, followed by a hot drink. They were attentive and friendly throughout, making sure that everyone was looked after and had what they needed. They chatted politely with members of the community and were happy to help wherever they could.
While we were at the church, we were also lucky enough to meet a gentleman who was servicing the church organ. He kindly took the time to talk to the children about how the organ works and then gave us a demonstration, playing some familiar hymns that we sing together in school. The children were fascinated to see how the organ works and enjoyed hearing the hymns played.
We were incredibly proud of the way the children conducted themselves. They were polite, helpful and thoughtful throughout the afternoon and showed great maturity and kindness. They were fantastic representatives of Baston CE Primary School and did a brilliant job of serving and supporting our local community.
