This term, Year 2 have been busy exploring the fascinating world of microhabitats in Science!

We ventured into our outdoor learning area to investigate the leaf litter and discover which minibeasts were hiding beneath. The children were excited to uncover a wonderful variety of creatures, including spiders, ladybirds and even a shield bug!

After our minibeast hunt, we took a closer look at the characteristics of each creature, carefully observing their features and thinking about how we could classify them into different groups.

The children demonstrated fantastic scientific thinking, identifying similarities and differences and suggesting a range of imaginative ways to sort and group their discoveries.
