Dream, Thrive, Believe

School Council

School Council meet weekly to discuss a variety of topics. Currently our main focus is creating an Eco School. We have worked hard to gain our Bronze Certificate and are hoping to obtain our Silver in the next few weeks. Our main foci are Healthy Living, Energy and Water where we have already put actions in place for everyone to follow. Our next steps are to encourage each class to focus on one of the ten topics of being an Eco School and to create displays to show their work. We have delivered an assembly to inform everyone of our plans too. We are hoping to improve lunchtimes and raise money for charities over the course of the year.

We have been working hard on our Eco School status (see separate tab), but we have also managed to raise £70 for the PTA Library Bus fund and The Woodlands Trust. We are checking everyone's snacks and lunchboxes for healthy eating too. Our projects in the forthcoming weeks are battery collection, Red Nose Day, Keeping Britain Tidy and making lunchtimes better for everyone in school. We are hoping to have a visit to either Lincoln or London to look at chambers that support democratic decisions in councils, or Parliament.

Great news- We have been invited to visit the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday June 19th and Lincoln Guildhall on July 8th...watch this space for more details!

We have met to discuss Comic Relief on 15th March and to admire our new solar panels which will help to support our Green Flag Application.

We have met to check on our Eco School progress; to talk about our forthcoming trips to London and Lincoln; to discuss Comic Relief (we have asked the PTA to donate all proceeds from Tuck Shop/Cake Sale - we'll help to serve!) and to arrange our next litter pick (next Thursday).

We have been busy with our Eco work recently, but have not forgotten our pledge to raise money for charity and are hoping to hold a Race for Life day to help Cancer Research. We have delivered an assembly on sustainable and Active travel and are looking forward to walking to school on 21st May with as many pupils as possible!

Walk to School day..

We have also travelled to the Houses of Parliament and had a visit to the Council Chambers in Lincoln and a moot court at Lincoln University. We have been busy doing our Eco jobs too! Our last charity event of the year has been a Race for Life.
