Year 6 enquiry questions - Our learning is based around the following questions. Take a look at our topic webs to see what we're learning in each subject.

Homework	Home on Monday Returned on Friday	Log and book returned on Friday to be changed in school ready for the following Monday. Your child will be given homework every week apart from the first and last week of term. You can find the Maths, Numbots, Reading Eggspress and Spelling homework on Seesaw each week from Monday to Friday. Reading books will go home EVERY WEEK. At Baston we value the weekend and see it as family time, therefore the children will not be asked to complete homework over the weekend. HOMEWORK

Homework 1 (Reading books)

Every Monday-Friday your child will have a new reading book. The reading level of this book will correspond to the level your child is assessed at in school. Please find a good time to read with your child every night. On Friday send the book back to school ready to receive a new book on Monday. 

Homework 2 (Spellings)

Spellings will be given via Seesaw at the start of each week. There will be a test on these spellings every Friday so please help your child to learn these at home. The spelling pattern will also ben taught to the children in school throughout the week.

Homework 3 (Maths)

A maths activity will be uploaded onto Seesaw every Monday. This may be a computer challenge, a written activity or a problem-solving activity. It would be beneficial for your child if you could sit with them while they complete their homework to make sure they understand what has been asked of them.

Homework 4 TTRS

Times table rock stars is a fun way of learning times tables. Your child will move through the times tables as their knowledge develops. If your child is stuck on a times table, it means that they need more practise! This homework is optional but will really help your child to secure the fundamental concepts in a fun way.

The login details for all of the children's accounts can be found inside their reading records but if these go missing, then please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

There will be no homework or spellings on the first or last week of every term. Reading books will go home every week.
